As mentioned earlier, a new alliance is forming for the sole purpose of helping producers in Minnesota and neighboring states sell more fiber. Both commercial and niche markets are being explored.

This project is being launched by Jean Mueller and crew, the people behind the “Sheep and Fiber Farm Tour” in SE Minnesota, now in its 4th year. Bob Padula and Judy Lewman have agreed to serve as advisors for the start-up.

If your sheep grow wool, this is for you — 5 ewes or 500 — any breed.

I'm heading into Minnesota to to drop off my son for school today. I wish you could switch the date to tomorrow! It sounds like a great event.

Sorry our dates don’t coincide, Mark. If you’ve got time this trip to swing by and check out Gale Woods Farm, there’s also an amazing attraction right next door.

Big Stone Mini Golf and Sculpture Garden was featured in the New York Times a few years ago. The owner is happy to have folks walk through to enjoy the sculpture, regardless of whether you have time for a round of golf.

Here are links to the NYT slideshow and related article:

And to Gale Woods Farm:

Travel safe, and perhaps we’ll meet on one of your future visits to Minnesota.
